About GEDnet
GEDnet, the Global Environmental Declarations Network, founded in 1999, is an international non-profit association of type III environmental declaration organisations and practitioners. The overall purpose of the network is to foster co-operation and encourage information exchange among its members and other parties operating or developing type III environmental product declaration programmes and to discuss key issues in developing such programmes.
A type III environmental declaration provides information regarding the environmental aspects of products and services based on information from life cycle assessment studies according to the ISO 14040-series of standards.
The process for developing type III environmental declarations is described in ISO 14025.
Currently representatives from Australia, China, Germany, Japan, Republic of South Korea, Sweden and Chinese Taipei are participating within GEDnet.
